Datacolor® Introduces Ahiba® IR Pro: Water-Cooled Infrared Lab Dyeing Machine for Textile Laboratories

World-Class Laboratory Dyer Set to Launch at the 2010 International Textile Market Association (ITMA) Conference Asia

Lawrenceville, NJ and ITMA ASIA 2010 (Hall E3, Booth A10) – June 17, 2010 Datacolor® (newserver.datacolor.eu), a global leader in color management solutions, has announced the availability of Ahiba® IR Pro, a world-class laboratory dyer with a new mechanical design featuring water-cooling to offer superior temperature control and unmatched accuracy, set to launch at ITMA Asia 2010.

With Ahiba IR already considered a fast, reliable and affordable lab dyeing machine in the textile industry, the new Ahiba IR Pro uses water to control the dyebath temperature rather than forced air, raising the level of accuracy and repeatability while simultaneously lowering the unit’s environmental impact and saving significantly on energy costs. A newly redesigned and modern touchscreen controller trims the learning curve to make Ahiba IR Pro intuitive for new and experienced users alike, while unique algorithms and control logic ensure the desired temperature and pre-programmed schedule is achieved regardless of beaker size and load. Other specialized features include a graphical interface, unique history log file, and manual programmability. Users will also enjoy enhanced security features designed to prevent unwanted editing or deletion.

Both the Ahiba IR and IR Pro are designed to simulate all aspects of the production dyeing process, optimizing the correlation between recipes developed in the laboratory and bulk recipes processed in production. Rapid testing and repeatable color accuracy enables the Ahiba IR and Ahiba IR Pro to significantly reduce the time required to bring finished goods to market. The units can accommodate up to 20 dyeing positions and recall up to 99 stored processes. The actual temperature of the dyebath is measured directly by a precision PT-100 sensor and ensures the greatest temperature accuracy. In addition, the Ahiba IR Pro offers temperature control of less than 1 ºCelsius ensuring unmatched repeatability.

“It remains absolutely vital to retailers that they receive textile products that meet their exact color specifications and that production delays are eliminated,” said Brian Levey, Vice President, Industrial Business Unit, Datacolor. “With the introduction of the Ahiba IR Pro together with Ahiba IR, we are giving manufacturers another option for controlling the temperature of their lab dyeing process to be even more precise in their reproduction.”
